Everyone is talking about Cannabidiol - or CBD for short. Many people use it for a variety of reasons. But users are often overwhelmed, especially when buying CBD oil, as there are various manufacturers and products. We will explain here what to look out for when you purchase CBD.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is an oil that has been enriched with CBD extract or CBD isolate. However, there are some differences between extract and isolate, which we will discuss in more detail later.

Cannabidiol extract or CBD isolate is mainly extracted from the flower of female hemp plants. It is not psychoactive, which means it is not intoxicating.

The CBD extract contains several other plant substances from the hemp plant, which are ideal in combination with CBD. For example, terpenes such as pinene, limonene, myrcene or caryophyllene. The interaction between the phytocannabinoids and terpenes is called the "entourage" effect.

The different ingredients interact with each other and can achieve a more powerful effect than each substance alone. We always recommend a full spectrum CBD oil as it contains all the vital plant substances you need to trigger the entourage effect.

How to turn CBD extract and cannabidiol isolate into CBD oil

The CBD extract is mixed with a carrier oil to create CBD oil. There are different carrier oils that you can use. Besides (MCT) coconut oil, olive oil or sunflower oil, hemp seed oil can also be used as a carrier oil. The combination of CBD extract and sunflower oil is among the most popular.

CBD Isolate is the purest CBD product. It contains up to 99% pure cannabidiol. However, all of the other plant compounds have been filtered out of the isolate, so it really is just pure CBD.

CBD Isolate is also mixed with one of the carrier oils mentioned above to create a CBD oil.

Which different CBD oils are available?

There are a wide range of different CBD oils. Here, the CBD content also plays a significant role.

When buying CBD oil, you should inform yourself so that you can find the right product for you. But with these important tips, it should be no problem.

Full spectrum oil
The full spectrum oil contains CBD extract and many other hemp plant ingredients, which can positively affect the endocannabinoid system. The combination of the different substances is vital for the endocannabinoid system. This is present in every human body and produces endocannabinoids. We recommend a full spectrum oil to interact optimally with the externally supplied cannabinoids.

CBD oil without THC
In addition to oils with a low percentage of THC (< 0.2%), there are also THC-free oils with cannabidiol. These can also have a positive effect on the body. However, these are not full spectrum oils but broad-spectrum oils.

Some people react to THC and cannot tolerate it. In those cases, THC-free CBD oil is ideal to still benefit from the advantages of cannabidiol oils. We also offer CBD oil without THC and CBN - the SWISS FX Zero.

CBD Oil from CBD Isolate
CBD Isolate is very pure cannabidiol that does not contain any other plant compounds, which is why it cannot interact with the endocannabinoid system. For people who cannot tolerate THC, CBD Isolate is an excellent alternative. However, CBD isolate is available as crystals or powder and gets mixed into oil by the users themselves. This is not recommended for CBD newcomers, as getting the dosage right is tricky.

The CBD content

Depending on what you want to use your CBD oil for, the CBD content can be the most important feature when buying CBD oil. Especially for the first time taking it, you should use a CBD oil that has a low CBD content.

Initially, a CBD oil with 5% is ideal so your body can get used to it. This concentration is sufficient for many users, as you can adjust the dosage, so it works for you.

Because every person is different, you will need to figure out what works best for your body. As already mentioned, initially, you should only buy a cannabidiol oil containing 5% CBD.

You start with a CBD oil dosage of 2 to 3 drops and increase the number every 3 to 4 days. This way, the body can slowly get used to it. The 3 to 4 days is necessary because you can see if your CBD oil dosage is too low or if the number of drops is sufficient.

People trying CBD oil for the first time can start with a low concentration of 5%. People who already have experience with CBD oil can buy CBD oil with 10% to 30% CBD.

When buying CBD oil, you should always pay attention to the ingredients. In addition, oil that includes cannabidiol should be grown and produced in Europe. Organic cultivation is important, so you can be sure you are getting the best quality. Organic CBD is free from chemical additives, dyes, pesticides, and herbicides. For this reason, we recommend organic CBD.

CBD oils with different carrier oils

CBD oils use different carrier oils. This has to do with the taste. Hemp seed oil has a very intense taste of hemp, and not everyone likes this. Luckily, there are now numerous cannabidiol oils that use coconut oil, sunflower oil or olive oil as a carrier oil.

Which CBD oil is best for me?

Unfortunately, we can't answer this question for you. Every person is different, and it may well be that you need to take less CBD than your friend or acquaintance with the same complaints. Because of this, we recommend testing it for yourself to see which oil and dosage leads to the best results.

The ingredients in CBD oils

As a rule, cannabidiol oil is purely plant-based and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. There should be only two ingredients in a high-quality CBD oil - CBD extract and carrier oil. That's all CBD oil needs.

Additionally, there are now CBD oils enriched with vitamins. Vitamin D and vitamin E are often used. Turmeric is also a very popular herbal ingredient in CBD oils.
