Sleepless nights? Here's how CBD can help!

We all know it. We are actually very tired, but lie in bed and can't fall asleep. This can have various causes. Besides external influences, such as enormous heat or noise, our lifestyle can also be to blame for the fact that we suffer from sleep problems. If you drink coffee too late, do sports or have smoked a lot, you have hyped up your body and so your body is not ready to rest. But illnesses are also often the reason why it is difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. CBD oil can be an important aid for all factors that lead to sleepless nights, as the active ingredients in the oil not only have a calming effect, but also promote sleep.

The umbrella term of insomnia

Insomnia is the umbrella term and there are different groups of insomnia. Occasional difficulty falling asleep or a bad night's sleep is familiar to all of us. This is called primary insomnia, i.e. insomnia without a specific reason. The cause can be stress or worries as well as external disturbing factors.
However, if the insomnia occurs more frequently, it should not be taken lightly. Especially if the insomnia occurs several times a week or lasts for at least two months, a doctor should be consulted. Anyone who constantly suffers from problems falling asleep or sleeping through the night, or who wakes up very early in the morning, should also have this clarified.
Women are more often affected by chronic insomnia than men. Almost every tenth person is affected by chronic insomnia, i.e. sleep disorders worthy of illness. A doctor can then clarify, on the basis of tests and examinations, what the cause of the sleep disorder is.

The different types of insomnia

There are many different types of insomnia. In addition to insomnia, there is also insomnia that lasts through the night. Furthermore, insomnia can also be a side effect of diseases such as sleep apnoea, restless legs syndrome (RLS) or parasomnias. Here, however, we would only like to explain the difference between falling asleep and staying asleep disorders in more detail, as they are among the most common forms.
Difficulty falling asleep: Everyone knows the problem of not being able to fall asleep at night. The problems and worries of the day run through our minds and keep us from falling asleep. As a rule, this can happen again and again because our body is simply not ready to switch off at bedtime. As a result, we are unslept and not refreshed the next morning. As well as jet lag, other causes of insomnia can be shift work, caffeine, alcohol and tobacco consumption or a late workout. The body is then so stimulated that it cannot rest.
Trouble sleeping through the night: In case of sleep-through disorders, the affected person can fall asleep excellently, but has problems to sleep through. This often affects older people. But young people can also be affected time and again. They wake up in the middle of the night for some inexplicable reason and cannot get back to sleep. So you toss and turn in bed for hours and sleep just won't come. The reason for this could be, among other things, late caffeine, alcohol or tobacco consumption. Medication can also cause problems sleeping through the night. It is also possible that the onset of depression triggers problems sleeping through the night.
But illnesses can also trigger problems falling asleep or sleeping through the night. This is why it is important to consult a doctor if the problems persist for a long time. CBD oil, on the other hand, can be a significant helper in the case of brief complaints.

How can CBD oil help with sleep problems?

CBD oil is known to have a calming effect and at the same time it can also provide a good and restful sleep. This is because the active ingredient cannabidiol interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, which is present in every human body. The interaction can positively influence not only sleep, but also mood, pain as well as nerves.
This means that sleep disorders caused by stress can be alleviated, as CBD oil strengthens our nerves through its excellent effect and increases tolerance to stress. At the same time, the oil with the active ingredient cannabidiol has a calming effect on the body, which in turn ensures that we can better switch off and calm down.
But the good effect on sleep is also not to be sneezed at. Even though CBD oil is energy-boosting, it can help us fall asleep better and also sleep through the night.

What should be considered when taking CBD oil to improve sleep?

CBD oil should usually be taken about one to two hours before bedtime. But be careful, it can also be that the active ingredient stimulates the body, which means that you are wide awake if it is taken too late. It is therefore recommended to test how it affects the body.
For this reason, the drops should be taken in the morning for two to three days to see whether the body is stimulated or not. Usually, it is even enough if the CBD drops are taken in the morning that they can have a perfect effect on sleep in the evening. However, since everyone reacts differently to the active ingredient cannabidiol, you should start taking them in the morning first.
Another small detail should be noted. Unfortunately, this is not found in many magazines and guidebooks. If you are taking CBD oil for the first time, you should be prepared for somewhat confused and chaotic dreams over the next two weeks. However, this is not a big deal. These are not nightmares, but simply irrational dreams, some of which can also be very funny. The author writes from experience and has also spoken to many other users of CBD oil who had the same experiences. So there is no need to be frightened here. These confused dreams usually disappear after one or two weeks.
Another advantage of CBD oil is that despite a long night of partying, you wake up in the morning very refreshed and well rested, even if you have only slept three or four hours. This is another experience that the author and others have had. When taking CBD oil, only a few hours of sleep are completely sufficient in an emergency to wake up refreshed and full of energy and to cope well with the day.

CBD oil a little miracle weapon for occasional sleep disorders

Occasional sleep disturbances are no cause for concern. Only if they last longer should a doctor be consulted. There are always stressful moments or problems in the family that make it difficult to fall asleep or sleep through the night. CBD oil can be an excellent helper here. Even in the case of illnesses that are accompanied by sleep disorders, CBD drops can help to sleep better. However, they are not a miracle cure and cannot heal the illnesses. They can, however, ensure that the body can recover during the night and thus also contribute to a better overcoming of the illness.
